Whether Waldorf was a wealthy hotel owner or progressive school master, the Waldorf salad is DELISH.
Waldorf.
WHO THE HELL WAS THIS PERSON?
Were they a rich family who felt passionately about extremely overpriced salads and swanky hotels, or were they crunchy hippies who wanted to produce more crunchy hippy kids to take over the world with peace and love and biodynamically produced compost?
Seriously. These are the questions I have about food.
Whoever Waldorf is, I love their style of salads the most. Fruit, celery, creamy goodness. It's hard to go wrong. I mean, you CAN go wrong, but you shouldn't because that would be silly.
Ingredients:
1 cup cooked chicken breast, chopped
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
15-20 grapes, halved
1 Tbsp chopped green onion
1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary
2 Tbsp mayo of your choice
1-2 tsp whole grain mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Channel the great spirits of all the Waldorfs. Ask them how they feel about the following subjects: hotel chains, high tea, yarn dolls, Maria Montessori, salads in general, Trump, mints on pillows, intersectional education and religion, and Facebook.
Next, get a medium sized mixing bowl. Toss everything in and stir well. For the best flavor, cover and refrigerate for an hour to let all of the flavors blend. But if you're hungry, eat it right away. I'm sure the Waldorfs won't mind.
